1965 Here I am again! It’s been a long time! Marty is going to school here. I’m going to a dance tomorrow night. I hope someone dances with me. (No one in particular, through.) Marcia says JR stares at me in history. There’s a sophomore who stares at me in Spanish! I sure hope this means something good - a change in me.

2006 I am still struggling with this tangle of tasks and active projects. What to connect - and what to discard - and of course how to do either - is a constant drone in my routine. It’s too easy to just do the things that are closest at hand , or the most urgent. But I have things that are close to my heart, with no deadlines, and they just get ignored.

1984 Wow! The end of an incredible week. Very busy, very satisfying. Not over, either. Tomorrow I drive to Philadelphia, give a paper, and drive home. Money I mop up the summer workshop (I hope). It astounds me that I have written 12 or 13 pages this week, in perhaps five or six hours here and there. I could write a book, dammit! Next week I do the eagle…

1981 I’m starting to feel pregnant. I figure I’ll be due between May 29 and June 11. Oh boy!! I have been playing with floor plans for the little room. We need more bookcases, and moving all the books to a single wall. Jim refuses to get rid of any books or put any books in storage.
