September 27
On this day in history, I had a conversation about with my past and future selves. Amazing.
2006
I am still struggling with this tangle of tasks and active projects. What to connect - and what to discard - and of course how to do either - is a constant drone in my routine. It’s too easy to just do the things that are closest at hand , or the most urgent. But I have things that are close to my heart, with no deadlines, and they just get ignored.
2011
I am still discovering things I forgot to do.
2014
Six of Cups; she expresses her feelings honestly, without inhibition.
Oh, really?
2015
Just four more days in September. Where has it gone? What have I done? I have actually managed to complete quite a few tasks, most small ones with start-of-the-semester urgency. I am settling in to a weekly routine that is managing to preserve Wednesday and Friday for writing at home. I have not, however, managed to do much writing at home. That needs to change this week, as the Shippensburg talk is looming just on the other side of our trip to Toronto.
Strange thoughts — I woke up at 4:30 the other morning and spent an hour researching rentals in the College Park area.
2017
Home from the Connecticut reunion. Easing once more into retirement, this time with Jim. Stuff to do, stuff to think about.
2020
Southern Oregon, traveling through an igneous canyon on the Coast Starlight. “Days are not a renewable resource.”
2023
On this day in history, I had a conversation with my past and future selves. Amazing.
