1978 What matters is the quality of each passing day, down to the most mundane details: comfortable clothing, nourishing food, and pleasant surroundings. I don’t mean luxury, just “enough”.

1986 Had a check-up last night: I have gained 6 pounds in 3 weeks. I am up to 20 in all,I think. The total weight gain hasn’t been too bad, though erratic.
October 24
1986 Six more weeks until my due date. On the one had, it seems very soon. On the other had, so long to wait. I am not as ready as I’d hoped to be by now, either at home or at work. But then, I always plan to do too much. After Thanksgiving, Kiddo. The most likely time is between November 24 and Dec. 22. So it might be 4 more weeks, or it might be 2 more…

1977 What a sunrise it’s going to be! I’ve turned out the lights and am writing by the rosy glow of the rising sun. Very impressive. Things are looking up I guess. 1984 Why does a day like this fill me with trepidation? I don’t have any appointments, except for lunch with a friend. I plan to spend the morning at the library and the afternoon at home. It’s an easy situation to goof off in.

1983 Thursday, thank heaven. It’s been very busy week. I’ve seen so many advisees and will see more today and tomorrow. We went away to Pennsylvania last weekend; though the weather was good one day and awful the next he had a good time. Saturday I had a meeting, and Jim took Kiddo to a local playground. Sunday we drove through Amish country and visited …
