I am up a bit early this morning, but have been a real slow starter. Jim had to leave early so here I am with a free hour before Kiddo gets up and I’m paralyzed. Part of it is I’d like to go back to sleep; part of it is I’m not sure when she’s going to wake up, so I can’t go upstairs and work. Part of it is a sense of letting down a bit after a long busy week. Why not relax a little and talk things over with myself?

Here I am, back again. Just remind myself to skip over the Art Eulene book parts that don’t interest me. I could get myself a new journal pretty soon. I’m torn. The last one was too large in format. This one was too long. Got tired of it after a while. Good flat 6 x 9 1/2 size, though.

A real cranky day with family yesterday. So much tension bursting into anger, and so hard to control. Stupid menopause. I railed and accused and carried on … and scene.Today is a better day, though I am not looking forward to both RE and the parents’ meeting at church. Perhaps I should stop and get some bagels for the meeting.

Bringing carbs to a noon meeting is always a good idea.

Love is discovery.
Today I will take a shower, review an article for a journal, read and take notes on two other articles, label some photos, find a box so I can mail Sarah’s pillow, watch the rest of Makkhi, and go to choir. Oh, and email my old high school friend Larry.
Tarot: 9 of Wands A wise woman sits in repose to regenerate her energy for new enterprises and action. Easier said than done.

Another reference to Makkhi! (Original title: Eega), one of my FAVORITE Indian films. (Telegu language, so Tollywood, not Bollywood). Love, comedy, murder, revenge and a dancing fly!!!! I need to own this.

Yes, another Inktober year.

Inktober was kind to me today, suggesting “map” as a prompt just when I needed to organize the 31 pages of The Other Project that I have finished so far. I will post an explanation on Gender Mystique tomorrow.

Yesterday’s walkabout was perfection. I rode to campus and back by bus - total, two hours. On the way there, the bus was full of high school students being teenagers. Campus brought on alternating waves of nostalgia and discomfort. Seven years into retirement, I don’t fit in anymore. Worse, I got lost in the midst of new construction and discovered that my favorite lunch spot is now a Panera. (The soulless kind, with digital self-serve menus.) Nice salad, though.

You could be a cartoonist, Jo. I think your drawings are cool!
