Sick (again)
Today I am going to the infirmary and finding out what my problem is. (And hopefully getting rid of it.) I am scheduled to give a lecture to Ann’s class Nov. 2 and can’t find my notes from last year. Embarrassing. I may need to borrow hers. If I only felt better! I am now a week behind, with an exam coming up in two days. (Statistics!!! Horrible!)
Is it raining or am I hallucinating little lines in the air?

My problem was seasonal allergies. A gift from the mid-Atlantic biome, which sensitized me to all kinds of new allergens. Yay.

Dammit, Paoletti! You can be pretty outstanding when you aren’t wandering around feeling inferior. What is your problem, anyway? Straighten up! If you were spending your time savoring each splendid day I could forgive you, but you spend your time worrying or reading the funnies. You don’t even talk to yourself any more.
Off yer butt, Barraclough!

I keep thinking about having another child. It is definitely something I want, most of the time. I spend a lot of time figuring out logistics. Connie suggested turning the kitchen into a third bedroom. It might work; not rent out the basement apartment and use the downstairs kitchen. When the kids (I usually think “girls”) are older, they could use the downstairs as a large bedroom and we could re-do the upstairs back to a kitchen, living room, office, and bedroom for us.
Why do I want a second one? Because one is so nice, and so much fun. Because I love my brother.

A friend of mine with three kids once said the ideal number of children is a fraction. For her, two was not enough, and three was too many.

This evening Kiddo and I go to Catoctin for the weekend. Jim has to work, unfortunately, and can’t go. My allergies have been kicking up this week, leaving me drippy and wheezy. Sunday night Mom comes for a two-day visit from the hospital, which I hope goes well. It would be nice to be able to bring her home on weekends until she is discharged.

Today is Tuesday.
It feels like fall. I regret not taking notes of yesterday’s thinking. Ah, well.

I am still recovering from the weekend. Looking at my gmail inbox, I can tell this will take a while. In the meantime, what’s new with you?
Enjoy this old page of notes/Inktober thing about the seven ages of man/woman. I am a serene seven. yeah, I know it’s the wrong day for today’s post. Sue me.
Also: look at that to do list!

I finished my new socks just in time for the first frost.
