Dateline: Bridgeport (Milford, actually) I’m at Ellen’s house, I don’t know (or can’t remember) her last name. She’s my overnight host. Marcia is staying with a real neat kid, and won’t be with me much. I met some of the aides from Camp Maria Pratt - Alvin, Micky and Corey - but I don’t know their real names. We square danced and saw some boring slides.
It’s fantastic how the girls change from inside to outside. They smoke and swear and hide their uniforms from the boys. Ah, well. Girls will be girls. Tomorrow is a long day and now I get some well-deserved cocoa. Farewell!

Just 2 pm and already a very productive day. Too much computer work, but at least that stuff is done. I borrowed a video from Erol’s and watched it all by myself (fun). Now time for a quick nap and then some errands.

Every day I wake up and wonder if this is it. Yesterday would have been nice. Exactly 6 months after my birthday, and it was a stunningly crisp fall day. I finished the chapter for the Smithsonian book and took it down to them - a great relief. Claudia called about 4 hours later, exclaiming about how great it was. So. That’s done.
Today I have another checkup; I guess we’ll see if I’m stuck at 3 cm and 90% effaced. No contractions last night or the night before, so I got two night’s sleep relatively uninterrupted.
Today I give my exam in TEXT 363. At least things are getting done. Talk about motivation!
