Well, Richard's mishap brought some changes. The pole vault pit is filled with foam stuff. It's real soft. It wouldn't help Richard, though. He fell on the track, missing the pit entirely.

The chilly weather is lingering on; I have to take a jacket every day, it seems.
So much has happened.I got both the Smithsonian and the Maryland Fellowships. The Smithsonian one is still a little up in the air because Claudia won’t be available for part of the Sumer, so I may need to split the time.
The main alteration in my life is the disintegration of my friendship with A. It was such a dumb argument. Any argument about semantics is dumb. But it revealed some deep feelings in her towards me that were a shock. In order to salvage a working relationship at least, I made the first move and apologized, even taking more than my share of the blame. A deigned to take none of it and then told me that she had let me do as much of my “old job” as she did because she left sorry for me. But I was acting like it was still my job. I was stunned, absolutely speechless. Not only wasn’t it true, it was cruel and unfair, and totally invalidated our “friendship” of the last ten months. If only I had known what to say!

I am zig-zagging towards feeling better. Sometimes I do too much and I get tired. But then I get bored resting. I have lots to do, but too much of if requires effort. So I’ve been trying to enjoy the slow down. Time to catch a nap.

For the love of God, woman! It’s only been ten days since you delivered a baby!

Kiddo is approaching things in a much more mature way that she did last year. I just have to keep my hands off so she can so it herself. (Did I say “just”?)

What a day! Mostly I dealt with the Playbill, which is (I hope) now done. Just a few more things to do, and this production is over.

I was putting together the program for the Zoomified 50th class reunion of the 1971 Syracuse University Drama Department. Did you know that Playbill (the company) will let you buy rights to their logo and a template for your very own program? The price was reasonable the result was amazing. The reunion was also amazing: dozens of old friends I had not seen in decades, located all over the country and even in other countries.
As the COVID emergency officially “ends”, let’s take a moment to give thanks to Zoom for stepping up and to the Internet for existing. I don’t know about you, but it would have been hard for me to stay sane without them.

Indian movie night was a huge success! We watched “Om Shanti Om”, one of my very favorites, which I have only seen maybe a dozen times. I also watched a 1955 film (Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje on YouTube) in the afternoon - no subtitles, but totally understandable, thanks to the synopsis in Wikipedia. So…two Indian movies in one day = over six hours of bliss.
On the down side, I heard that one of my dearest friends had a heart attack and is in the hospital. Will not discuss further here, but wanted to mark the spot.
Finally, I mentioned Marley (our dog) yesterday and one reader thought I meant Bob Marley. Me being me, I consulted Google and found that the iconic reggae musician died on May 11, 1983. That’s forty years ago today, so I must observe the event.
I've only watched On Shanti Om three times. Very enjoyable flick.
