Ah, Thursday! I love Thursday. I like it because
1)no History
2)get out 1 hr. early
3)This Thursday I have Differential Aptitude Tests.
I also have DAT's tomorrow and Monday. We had the spelling and sentence ones today - they were easy. Any jerk could do them in 10 minutes and we were allowed 20.
Rehearsal tonight. Everything is fine - except B's puns.

I have always loved standardized tests. Heck, I love taking Cosmo quizzes. According to one of many web sites for firms offered the DAT,
"The Differential Aptitude Tests for Personnel and Career Assessment (DAT for PCA) tests applicants in eight areas that relate to successful job performance. Use it with confidence to assess candidates for selection, training, and career development in an organizational setting."
I was very eager to find out what career I should pursue, and so the idea of three days of testing to get some answers was way cool. Of course, does anyone else see the irony of a future cultural historian being glad that History class was cancelled?

As I remember, my top scores were for outdoor and clerical careers. I was very disappointed because I hoped for something artistic or creative. I did a little googling and found this critique:
“It does not measure areas such as creativity and musical intelligence under intelligence and ability.”
As it happens, when I didn’t get the results I wanted, I ignored them.

Still true.

So far the only new habit that is working is making lunches the night before. I have done some morning writing in the morning, too. I’ve gotten everything done.
The move to the new office is settling in. I like having my own space, after so many years sharing an office. The costume collection is nearly unpacked and I am excited in having it so accessible. If only there was the $$ for even a part time collection manager. I can’t do it myself; that’s clear after three years if having help. When the current GA finishes next year, the load will get heavier again.

Sharing an office again. Do not like.

What a great name for a day! After a good night’s rest, my morning exercise, and this thoughtful time, I am ready to March forth and accomplish things. A trip to the library is on the schedule for today. Then a class. Then family time. Then a church meeting. Then…a spring-like night and the birds in the morning. I love the quiet here.
My DAT revealed my best career would be Librarian and worst career to be PE Teacher. Duhhhh!
