I had to stay home again! Baw! I want to get my report card - I don't want to wait around! My exam marks were:
Biology -82
Geometry- 85
History - 84
Spanish - 95
English - 81
I thought I would do better than that in English and Geometry, On the whole, it was a disappointment. Tomorrow for sure I go back - yippee? I'm really glad, I guess.

I have all of my report cards, from Kindergarten through high school, and my undergraduate transcript. After that, I stopped caring, or more accurately, started working more strategically. By the time I was doing my PhD coursework, I was deciding at the beginning of each term which class I could afford to place on the back burner and settle for a B. I was determined to complete my course work before I started my dissertation so I could focus on writing. Taking four courses a semester, while teaching another course, I cleared the deck in two years. Then suddenly, my “focus” turned into months of writer’s block and procrastination.

Most days I like myself. Except for those days when I rushed, anxious, and cranky, I think I am pretty much the person I want to be. (To be truly perfect, I’d have to get more done.) It really looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day today. The sky is blue and full of light, puffy, clouds, and the forecast is for 50 degrees.
Well, I am planning instead of meditating. Might as well give up and plan.

Things about me:
My biggest joy is making things
The more I play, the more my work improves.
I worry that I will die “young”.
Sometimes I get angry that I have so many stupid things that I never get around to.
A winter storm hovers to the south, moving slowly towards us. Unfortunately, it’s a rain storm; I would dearly love snow. It is so gray and cold, can’t we PLEASE have snow?

At least I can take one thing off the list, since I turn 75 in less than 4 months.

Where's the snow I was promised?

The Weather Channel is now saying 18-24 inches, so my guess is we can forget the Ham & Cheesy Evening and Karaoke Night, and probably yet another church service. Wanna worship online in Second Life? They have a lovely sanctuary there.

By February, I am clearly jonesing for snow, if we haven’t had any yet. File under “Be careful what you wish for”. Also - Second Life! That was fun for a while. Does anyone still go there?
As Jesse Winchester sang:
"You know what they say
about snowflakes -
How there ain't no two the same -
Well all those flakes
look alike to me, and every one
is a dirty shame."
