February 14
A very, very nice day. Productive and relaxing; a rare combination for me these days.

Happy Valentine's Day! The Dave Clark Five were on Ed Sullivan tonight. My stars! What a bunch of dolls! I like Mike Smith and Lenny Whatsisname best. Back to shcool <-spelt wrong!->tomorrow. Joy of Joys. I want to see V tomorrow! I love him - I think! I really do! In fact, this Friday I'm going to the Senior-Underclass game -- and dance! Yep, I got up the nerve - not much, but a good amount! Now all I have to do is find out if he likes me. I wonder!

Oh, my. 29 Valentine’s Days in love with Jim. I wish I still had my diary from then, or something. How wonderful and giddy that first winter and spring were. (Just saying, “oh, wow” and shouting “I love you!” In the cold Syracuse night.) And peanuts and broken cashews.
Well, tonight we will go out and enjoy. And this weekend I will pursue the dream.

The 1965 entry makes me nervous just reading it. It’s like the way you feel when the kids decide to go into the attic in a horror movie. “No!” I scream, “Don’t go to the dance. You’ll regret it!”
But as you can see, I do eventually find real love. Also, I have no idea what dream I planned to pursue the next weekend. As far as I can tell by reading ahead, it didn’t happen.
Jim and I are heading to dinner and movie. Happy Valentine’s Day!

There was such a beautiful dawn today. The sky was blue-gray with a strip of pink on the horizon. The faint light was striking the snow and ice, so that everything looked cold and fragile. I don’t doubt that it was both; it’s about 7 degrees outside, and as soon as the sun came up it shattered the beautiful illusion.
I got alot done yesterday, thanks to Mother Nature and the power that be at the University. Jim and I even had time to play two rounds of Mastermind after dinner. A very, very nice day. Productive and relaxing; a rare combination for me these days.

Another snow day. At least, classes are cancelled. I haven’t figured out if I should go to campus at all. There was an announcement last night that classes were cancelled but the offices were open. This morning, I have heard two announcements that the university was closed, period. We have a candidate coming in from Kansas today (I think).
Well, time to get to work. Perhaps there will be time to write more later…
